Mine, mine, mine!

The title for this post is drawn from the movie “Finding Nemo” where the seagulls are scrabbling for food (in case you haven’t seen it click here). Dave and I went to the local beachside suburb of Manly on Wednesday for a lunch of fish and chips by the sea.

No seaside fish and chip eating episode would be complete without hoards of seagulls descending in search of an easy meal, their raucous cries screaming as they hope you might take pity on them. I would have to say these were some of the healthiest and most well fed seagulls I have seen in ages and I figured they would be something fun to try and catch on camera. We certainly had a great time throwing chips and trying to snap them on the wing. Photographically I tried something a bit different to my normally ‘realistic’ style and went for a more stylised feel.

The next 2 images have made it into that small group of favourites that will be printed and hung on our walls at home. They really speak to me which is a nice thing when they are my own images.
